Just dropping a quick update. 

We've been working hard and cranking out more pages.  These inked panels have been digitized and are now in Mariam's hands! I'm super excited to see her colors bring these panels to life.

I also wanted to update everyone that we've decided to use BackerKit to process surveys and final project fulfillment.  BackerKit is an amazing service that helps crowdfunding campaigns process backer information, organize packages, pay shipping, and all the backend logistics. We hope it will make for a smooth fulfillment process.  

We also decided to wait on sending out surveys which will ask backers for their addresses. Its best to get that info closer to the actual shipping date, in case a backer's address changes in the next months. 

So that means surveys will be going out during the final month of production which should be around end of October.  Don't worry,  you'll receive lots of updates before and then many alerts when they're live.

In the meanwhile we have variant covers incoming. Next update we will give you a preview of Micah's Afropunk Variant cover.

Production Update and Next Steps

After a quick rest,  we're back in full production mode. The team is working hard to finish up the 40 page SYSL's Log: Audit 1.

I wanted to update you on next steps. On August 15th all backers will get a survey asking for information needed to fulfill the reward pledge.

Below is the breakdown of what to expect:

• All reward backers will get a survey asking for the best email to send the digital rewards.
• If you pledged at "Join Expedition v9" physical tier and higher, you'll also be asked to provide the physical address to send the rewards.
• If you pledged at "Glitch in the Framework"  tier ONLY, you'll be asked to pick a variant cover: Cyberpunk by NinjaJo or Afropunk by Micah Backlight (Backers above Glitch tier get both variant covers)
• If you pledged at "Modder's Delight" tier and higher, you'll be asked to provide the name you wish to appear in the Thank You page.
• If you pledged at "The Coded Delusion" tier ONLY,  you'll be asked to submit a photo of yourself (or loved one). The photo will be added to a library that will be used to develop unique background characters for the city of New Nexus. I'm really excited about this tier, you'll be among 26 backers contributing to this library. I can't wait to morph you into Nexian robots and sneak you and others into the panels of New Nexus.  (Photo requirements will be explained in survey.)
• If you pledged at "Join the Framework" and "Get Archived" high tiers ONLY, you'll also be asked to submit a photo but with special requirements (such as shoulder up head shots). Along with the photo you'll also be asked to provide a quick description that will help develop your avatar and their pose. If I need more information I'll reach out with your preferred mode of communication, probably in November when I start working on these portraits. You will have the opportunity to make 2 revisions to the initial sketches of portrait. And don't worry, your portrait will automatically be entered into the character design library.

Thank you all for making the first New Nexus crowdfunding campaign an amazing success!

It was one hell of a rollercoaster ride! We've crossed the finish line with a whooping $13,400 pledged and 131 backers! I'm absolutely blown away and humbled by all the support. Thank you for believing in the project and the team behind it. I am so excited to finish up this first chapter and get it in your hands.  

I will have a more detailed “next steps” coming soon. Please allow me a week to decompress and recharge.

Today marks the Monday of the last week for the New Nexus Kickstarter. We're still going strong and creeping towards the second stretch goal. We hope to hit it before Saturday 7/2, our last day!!

Here a sneak peak behind the scenes. yeah... I've got a lot of scanning to do!

I know its unconventional but hear me out. I do a lot of initial sketches of the page layout and figure out where all the panels go and what happens in them...THEN I draw the finals of each panel as a separate piece. They all get scanned and then I digitally composite them together into a single page. 

Not sure if anyone else works like this... please holler if you do 🤪
